VIA Survey of Character Strengths

What are your character strengths? How can you apply your strengths to your academic, professional, career, and personal development? How can you build on your strengths?

To help you get started with answering these questions you might want to take the VIA Survey of Character Strengths found here (you'll need to register, but it's free):

http://www.authentichappiness.sas.upenn.edu/default.aspx

This survey on the Authentic Happiness website is designed to identify strengths of character like: love of learning (my top strength), wisdom, persistence, fairness, self-regulation, appreciation of beauty & excellence, gratitude, creativity, curiosity, open-mindedness, integrity, love, kindness, social intelligence, leadership, forgiveness, humility, prudence, hope, humor, spirituality, bravery, vitality, and citizenship.

After completing the survey (it's long; hang in there, it's worthwhile), you will view a display of your results as well as comparisons with other people who have taken the survey.

I hope you'll take some time to try this out and let me know what you think and/or if you'd like to discuss this further.
